We're seeking a Software Engineer with deep healthcare interest to build AI-powered solutions for healthcare program integrity. You'll work with Medicare data, claims processing, and risk adjustment while developing technology that protects against fraud, waste, and abuse. Strong communication skills and ability to explain design decisions are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered analytics platforms for claims processing and risk adjustment
- Work with complex healthcare datasets (Medicare claims, CMS data files)
- Develop fraud detection algorithms and data processing pipelines
- Communicate design decisions clearly and document technical solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code for HIPAA-compliant applications
- Collaborate with healthcare domain experts to translate requirements
- Follow healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC2)
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years software development experience, preferably in healthcare or data-intensive applications
- Strong interest in healthcare and understanding of healthcare systems
- Excellent communication skills - ability to summarize and explain technical design decisions
- Statistical reasoning and analytical thinking
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and JavaScript
- Experience with large datasets and SQL
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and Git
- Commitment to healthcare compliance (HIPAA, SOC2)
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of how AI/ML tools work and experience applying them to real problems
- Healthcare domain knowledge (Medicare, claims processing, risk adjustment)
- Experience with healthcare data formats (HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI)
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH)
- Background in health informatics or healthcare administration
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Machine learning, statistical analysis, or data science experience
- Previous work with government healthcare programs
Security and Compliance Requirements
- Complete security awareness and HIPAA training within 30 days
- Sign NDA, security policies, and HIPAA Business Associate Agreement
- Follow healthcare data handling and PHI protection protocols
- Pass background check verification
